Usage Instructions

Follow our simple kefir recipe to create your own homemade kefir:

  1. Heat the Milk: Bring the milk almost to a boil, then cool it to 22-29°C.
  2. Add the Starter Culture: Add one sachet of HealthCultivated kefir starter culture to the milk and mix thoroughly. Use the original milk packaging or a glass jar. Cover with a coffee filter or cloth secured by a rubber band.
  3. Ferment: Let the mixture ferment in a warm place, ensuring the temperature stays between 22-29°C. Ferment for 12-24 hours, depending on the temperature.
  4. Check Consistency: Kefir is ready when it thickens to a consistency similar to single cream or buttermilk and is slightly fizzy. If needed, ferment for an additional 1-2 hours.
  5. Refrigerate: For the best taste, let the kefir mature in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours. Consume within 5-7 days.
